A hill is a home for a hobbit

I watched the Lord of the Rings trilogy when I was home for the holidays. I forgot how much I enjoy those movies. I also forgot how gargantuan a time commitment it is, but that's all right.

Sister and Brother

Even better if they look like twins.

LA sketches

Just got back from a pretty amazing trip.

I have every intention of making at least one full-blown illustration, because there are things that need memory recording.

Miss it

Just some sketchbook sketches.

The bottom left are me and my siblings. I'm in the upper left, looking far too calm. The cats in the bottom right are my family's cat, Willamena (left) and my cat Edna (right). My cat is a young, fresh, giant blob and my family's cat is tiny, old and frail.

Exclusive.

I'm working on this picture at the dining room table with my brother (who is doing his Calculus homework), my sister (who is studying her Social Studies), and my mom (who is ironing clothes). I cannot otherwise describe the remarkable sense of belonging I feel right now :).

the lake effect

Lawrence 2010
I really wanted to do a New Year's picture with Lawrence, so here that is. The plan is to draw a Lawrence New Year picture every New Year.

We have been getting snow almost nonstop for the last two weeks. Sometimes it's only a little bit, sometimes it's a dumpload. During the last blizzard I wanted to try capturing the place, like before...

downtownsnow
This one is based on downtown during the evening, just as it's getting dark. My brother and I were driving (LETHAL) around at that time so I did this one from memory. Needless to say, it's not accurate.

acrossthestreet
This one, however, I did while looking out the window, with as much accuracy as I could muster (and still keep an artistic license).
